About
For current workshop policy on social distancing please see bottom of the page.
I work at Little Haddon Barn, near the village of Skilgate, on the edge of Exmoor national park.
My purpose built workshop is converted from a stone cattle shed (or linhay), using wherever possible repurposed materials, or seconds from a local saw mill.

I am a strong advocate of recycle and re-use, my focus is mixing new with recycled metal. Taking scrap sterling silver, I melt it down and ether cast it into my designs, or forge into organic shapes.
To this I add recycled copper and brass, these base metals giving contrast and colour to my work.
My handmade jewellery is made using traditional hand tools and avoiding harmful chemicals, packaged in recycled boxes.

Little Haddon Barn is a beautiful peaceful place and I feel so blessed to work here. I love having visitors, be that people joining me for a day course, or coming to meet me at my work space and see what I'm working on.
My mobile workshop is a lot of fun. I've been running these for the last 10 years at festivals, street fairs, art trails and private events.
I very much enjoy the contrast of the quiet serenity when working alone in my work space, and the vibrancy of a busy event.

Current workshop policy for social distancing.
Due to social distancing rules, and with you safety in mind, the workshop days are currently restricted to people coming from the same household/bubble. This way you can share workbenches and tools, and will not have to distance from other workshop participants. If you want to come on your own then you will be limited to booking onto a half day (or a series of half days) on these sessions you will work one on one with me in the workshop.
On arrival you will be asked to wash you hands at the station by the car park. There will also be hand washing facilities in the workshop.
You will be asked to bring any drinks with you from home, and will stay in the workshop to eat lunch (full days) rather than eating in the house.
Please bring a face mask with you to wear during work at the blow torch (soldering silver, or casting hot metals) I will have some on sale here should you need to buy one.
You will have access to separate toilet facilities that are only used by workshop participants.
On arrival we will go through how the day will run and how we will manage distancing from myself while in the workshop.
The workshop will remain empty for 24 hours between classes so that high traffic areas and tools can be cleaned.
I have total confidence that we can run these days with the usual relaxed atmosphere, while being conscious of staying safe during this difficult time.
I very much hope hope to be able to be back running my full range of classes soon.
